As a long-time fan of fighting games and the Street Fighter series in particular, I was absolutely thrilled when Capcom announced that Terry Bogard would be joining Street Fighter 6 as part of the Season 2 DLC. Terry has been a beloved character for me since I first played Fatal Fury back in the ’90s, and his inclusion in this new game is a nostalgic and exciting addition.
At the Evolution Championship Series event, Capcom unveiled a sneak peek trailer for Terry Bogard becoming the latest addition to Street Fighter 6’s Season 2 roster. Terry Bogard, well-known as the iconic character from SNK’s Fatal Fury series, is now the second figure to join this franchise following M. Bison. Furthermore, Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury will make her appearance in winter 2025.
The sixth installment in the Street Fighter series came out on June 2, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. Capcom was responsible for both developing and publishing this game. By January 2024, over 3 million copies had been sold.
I’m an avid fan and dedicated follower of Terry Bogard’s combat exploits. In Autumn 2024, you’ll be able to find him in World Tour, Battle Hub, and Fighting Ground. This iconic fighter has graced every Fatal Fury and King of Fighters game since their inception. His legendary status extends beyond these titles, with guest appearances in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Fighting EX Layer, and the Capcom vs. SNK series. For those uninitiated, let me fill you in on Terry Bogard’s captivating backstory and formidable fighting abilities.
About Terry Bogard
The explanation for Bogard’s widespread appeal lies in his fitting Japanese portrayal as an American character. He goes by the nicknames “The Hungry” or “Legendary Wolf,” and is accompanied by a monkey named Ukee. As the primary character in the Fatal Fury franchise, Bogard has roots in Street Fighter as well.
In the trailer sneak peek, Bogard is depicted battling a noticeably larger adversary. The voiceover reveals he’s the esteemed VIP guest for Pao Pao Cafe’s grand opening. Similar to his game persona, Terry showcases impressive acrobatics throughout. The teaser concludes with him executing a signature move (Burn Knuckle/Quick Burn), knocking out his foe.
Terry Bogard is the senior Bogard sibling, with Andy being the younger brother they brought up together in Jeff Bogard’s home after an orphaned childhood. Despite Terry’s superior strength, he acknowledges Andy as a worthy adversary.
Other DLC Characters
I, an avid fan of Street Fighter, was thrilled to see some familiar faces make their return to the game. Rashid, Ed, and Akuma were among these beloved characters that graced our screens once more. Additionally, we were introduced to newcomers A.K.I and Jamie. Excitingly, Mai Shiranui will debut as the third character in the upcoming DLC. Moreover, Elena, a returning fighter, is set to be the fourth addition, joining us in spring 2025. Keep an eye out for further announcements regarding who else might be joining Street Fighter’s impressive roster.
