Despite the main Stranger Things series ending, the story isn’t over yet for fans. Netflix will continue to expand the universe with new content. We already knew about Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85, coming in April to fill in some gaps and introduce new creatures. Now, the popular Broadway play Stranger Things: The First Shadow – which adds to the official storyline – has been filmed and will be available to stream on Netflix, giving fans even more of the story they’ve been waiting for, according to Collider.
A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but performances of Stranger Things: The First Shadow on Broadway are paused from February 10-15 so the cast can film a special for Netflix. The special focuses on a young Henry Creel, and features characters like Hopper and Joyce. Interestingly, the play contained key parts of Henry’s backstory that were intended to be shown before Stranger Things 5, and it’s a shame it wasn’t more accessible then.
It’s always a good time for something exciting, so fans should definitely watch this play when it becomes available online. It would be a great way to get ready for another viewing of the show’s last season! And even though Stranger Things doesn’t have any new episodes planned, it’s comforting to know there’s more of the story coming in a different format.
