The main Stranger Things story finished on December 31, 2025, bringing the original series to a close. However, the world of Hawkins will continue through a spin-off series called Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, offering more adventures in that universe.

The new Stranger Things spin-off, Tales from ‘85, will start streaming on Netflix on April 23, 2026. Netflix announced the premiere date on its social media channels.
The team announced that a new Stranger Things adventure is coming! ‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’ will be released on Netflix on April 23rd, and promises to solve the mysteries of Hawkins.

Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85 takes place in the winter of 1985, after the terrifying events of the Upside Down have begun to subside. A blanket of snow covers the town as Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max try to return to a normal life, enjoying things like Dungeons & Dragons, snowball fights, and peaceful days.
Oh my god, something huge is happening in Hawkins! I mean, something truly terrifying has woken up…under the ice! Is it connected to the Upside Down? Please tell me it’s not another experiment gone wrong at Hawkins Lab! I need to know what’s going on! This is a whole new story, and our heroes have to figure it all out and save the town… I’m so stressed and excited all at once!
This new series takes place between seasons two and three of the original show, specifically after Eleven shuts down the gate at Hawkins Lab.
Cast and crew of Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85
The main characters in Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85 are voiced by Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, Luca Diaz, Benjamin Plessala, Elisha “EJ” Williams, Braxton Quinney, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, and Brett Gipson. Odessa A’zion, known from Marty Supreme, plus Jeremy Jordan, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Janeane Garofalo, also provide voices for important roles in the show.
This spin-off series was created by Eric Robles and is executive produced by Matt and Ross Duffer, along with Eric Robles, Shawn Levy, and Dan Cohen. Flying Bark Productions handled the animation.
