Netflix has dropped a new trailer for Stranger Things 5, signaling the start of the end for the hugely popular show. The final season of the sci-fi horror series will be released in three parts, giving fans a last look at the town of Hawkins, Indiana.
Season five will have eight episodes. The first two parts will be released on November 26th and December 25th, with the final episode coming on December 31st. The Duffer Brothers are again the creators and showrunners, working with producers Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen.

You can expect to see most of the original cast return for the next season, including stars like Winona Ryder, David Harbour, and Millie Bobby Brown, as well as Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp. Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Maya Hawke, and Priah Ferguson will also be back. Amybeth McNulty, who had a small role in Season 4, will now be a main character, and Linda Hamilton, known for her role in Terminator, is joining the cast.
The story continues a year after the last season, in the fall of 1987. After the rifts opened in Hawkins, the group is focused on tracking down and defeating Vecna. However, they’ll face significant challenges along the way.
When the military comes to town, Eleven finds herself in danger once more. With the anniversary of Will Byers’ disappearance drawing near, the group must confront a final, life-or-death battle to protect their town – and maybe even the entire world.
The latest trailer suggests a dramatic and emotional finale. We see the town of Hawkins destroyed, Eleven facing her history, and brief but frightening appearances of Vecna. The trailer implies a much grimmer atmosphere and a dangerous conflict that will push the group’s friendships and abilities to their limits.
With Stranger Things ending, many fans are already feeling sentimental about finishing a show that really shaped streaming TV. Since it first came out in 2016, the series has become a huge part of popular culture, mixing a love for the 1980s with spooky adventures and touching stories.
