The final season of the popular Netflix series, Stranger Things, will conclude with its last episode becoming available to UK viewers on January 1st. According to a post from Ross Duffer on Instagram, the episode is expected to be over two hours long and promises a grand finale.
The show’s fifth season will be released in three parts. The first part became available on November 26th, the second is coming on December 25th, and the last part will be released on December 31st.
The latest season was created by the Duffer Brothers, along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen. It stars familiar faces like Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, and Natalia Dyer, and also features several returning characters.
It’s fall 1987, and things are falling apart in Hawkins after the events of the previous season. The group of friends is determined to stop a new, powerful enemy named Vecna, but their efforts are made more difficult when the military starts pursuing Eleven. With the anniversary of Will Byers’ disappearance approaching, they must unite for one last, dangerous showdown.
The creators of the show, the Duffer Brothers, recently told the Associated Press that the finale will be both intense and deeply emotional. They described it as a “dark Christmas” and an “emotional New Year’s Eve,” suggesting viewers can anticipate a suspenseful yet heartfelt conclusion to the series.
Over the last ten years, Stranger Things has become one of the most popular sci-fi horror shows, and fans are anticipating that the final season will wrap up the stories of its much-loved characters and finally answer all the show’s big questions.
