STRANGER THINGS 5 Will End Upside Down and All Character Arcs, So Don’t Look for Them in the Spinoff

The fifth season of *Stranger Things* will conclude the popular sci-fi series created by the Duffer Brothers. For almost ten years, viewers have been captivated by the adventures of a group of friends from Hawkins, Indiana, as they battle supernatural threats from another dimension. Though it’s sad to see this touching story of love, friendship, and growing up come to a close, the creators feel it’s the right decision. While plans for a *Stranger Things* spin-off exist, the main story and these characters will likely conclude in 2025, meaning we probably won’t see any further adventures in the Upside Down with this group.

I recently read an interview with the Duffer Brothers in *Variety*, and it was really touching. They talked about how much *Stranger Things* means to them personally, and how incredibly proud they are of the actors – they really delivered! They also emphasized how much thought and care they put into crafting the ending, wanting to make sure the fans are happy. They confirmed that *Stranger Things 5* will truly wrap up everyone’s story and finally bring everything that’s been happening in Hawkins to a close. It sounds like they’re determined to give us a satisfying conclusion!

Matt Duffer stated that they’ve finished everything they set out to achieve with the Demogorgon, Mind Flayer, Vecna, the Upside Down, Hawkins, and all the characters. He confirmed this is a complete story and that it’s finished.

Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, it appears the upcoming *Stranger Things* spinoff won’t feature any of the original show’s actors. Furthermore, the new series likely won’t be set in Hawkins or involve the Upside Down, based on recent comments.

According to Ross, the upcoming *Stranger Things* spinoff won’t add to the existing storyline or lore. Instead, it will take place in a separate universe, but with some connections to the original series. Details are still unclear, and we won’t learn more until after *Stranger Things 5* has finished airing.
