The Stranger Things 5, Volume 2 Trailer Takes Us Back to the Last Minutes of Volume 1

The new trailer for Stranger Things 5, Volume 2, picks up right after the events of Volume 1. Will has just realized he can connect with Vecna’s powers and the Upside Down. At the same time, Vecna has escaped from the Hawkins military base after a devastating attack, and has reclaimed the children he needs for his disturbing experiments.

The trailer for Stranger Things 5 Volume 2 shows the aftermath of a disaster, followed by Will saying, “We failed. We never stood a chance.” However, Joyce comforts him, telling him “This is not over” and holding him close.

The trailer shows Mike gazing up at the sky, his face illuminated by flickering red light from the Upside Down. We also see Will, Robin, and Mike in a scene that appears to happen around the same time Will’s eyes turn white again, suggesting he’s once more connected to the hive mind. This all points to what’s coming in the second part of Stranger Things Season 5.

Max and Holly Are Trying to Escape Vecna’s Mind Prison

The new trailer shows Holly and Max desperately searching for an escape from what looks like a prison built from Henry’s memories. They discover a possible entrance to Max’s room, a spooky wooden basement, and a mysterious white door in the middle of a field. But it’s unclear if these discoveries lead to freedom or are just more traps set by Vecna – the trailer keeps us guessing!

The second part of Stranger Things 5 finally focuses on the characters fans have been waiting for: Steve, Nancy, Dustin, and Jonathan. They’re still navigating the terrifying Upside Down, making their way toward Hawkins Lab. Dustin delivers a chilling line, suggesting everything they thought they knew about the Upside Down is incorrect. This is unsettling, especially since the first part of the season already revealed a lot of new information. The creators, the Duffer Brothers, have promised a complete explanation of the Upside Down this season, so it’s not surprising that more mysteries are unfolding.

In the lab, Steve and Dustin spot a massive, swirling energy source in the ceiling, prompting Dustin to exclaim in shock. We share his reaction – it’s truly unsettling! Simultaneously, Jonathan and Nancy observe a similar surge of energy in the sky of the Upside Down. Soon after, Dustin and Steve discover a strange, slimy tear in the lab ceiling, and it looks incredibly ominous.

Eleven Is Trying to Find Vecna

In the latest trailer for Stranger Things 5 Volume 2, Eleven is working with her sister, Kali (also known as Eight), and is determined to find and defeat Vecna. Eleven wants Kali to help her, believing they’ll have a better chance against him if they combine their powers. However, it’s unclear if Kali is truly on Eleven’s side.

Mike isn’t thrilled with whatever Eleven is planning. They share a worried embrace, and it looks like Eleven has shaved her head again, which isn’t a good sign. However, she appears prepared to use her abilities more powerfully than ever before.

Vecna Is Back as Henry Creel and Himself

The trailer for Stranger Things 5, Volume 2 strongly suggests Vecna will play a major role. We get a disturbing glimpse of Henry Creel standing in the rain, followed by a chaotic shot of him transforming through different forms. This sequence is arguably the scariest we’ve seen in the entire series. Soon after, we see him fully become Vecna and target Holly.

“It is time,” Vecna says, as we explosive power surging through the Upside Down, “For new worlds.”

Everything Else That’s in Stranger Things 5, Volume 2’s Trailer

On top of everything else happening, we see Murray driving a truck while shouting, “Showtime.” Somehow, Dustin manages to escape the Upside Down, and he, Will, Lucas, and Robin are all crammed in the back of the truck, desperately holding on. And to make things worse, the truck is being fired upon! Robin sarcastically remarks that she thought this part would be simple, but as viewers know, nothing is ever easy on the final season of Stranger Things. Lucas, sounding completely defeated, simply replies, “It was.”

Linda Hamilton returns as Dr. Kay, and true to form, she’s armed. It’s unclear if she’s firing at Murray’s truck, but Nancy is right on top of it, heavily armed and shooting at soldiers. This trailer for Stranger Things 5, Volume 2, makes it clear things are about to get very intense.

Oh no! It looks like the Demodogs are threatening Vickie at the hospital – we need to protect her! And it appears Max and Lucas are in trouble there too. Max is still unconscious in the real world.

At some point, Jonathan—or someone—says they have no idea what lies ahead, but that everyone needs to work together if they want to survive. This is perfectly shown when Will and Dustin share a heartfelt hug.

Things are happening fast! Robin shuts off the radio tower, a Demogorgon is electrocuted, and Dustin is running for his life in the Upside Down. Nancy and Jonathan are caught in an explosion, while Eleven is using her abilities. Eleven, Kali, and Hopper appear to be trapped in a powerful storm, and Vecna is getting ready to fight. It’s chaos!

STEVE AND DUSTIN, STOP!

The most chilling moment in the Stranger Things 5 Volume 2 trailer is Steve and Dustin’s calm conversation about the possibility of dying. They tell each other, “If you die, I die,” mirroring a similar exchange from Stranger Things 2. It’s good to see they’ve patched things up after Volume 1, but it definitely makes you wonder what sacrifices they had to make.
