The first trailer for the final part of Stranger Things season 5 is here, offering fans a sneak peek at how the story ends. The short clip features an injured Dustin and suggests that the hidden truths about Hawkins will soon be revealed.
The second volume of the show arrives on Christmas Day with three new episodes, and it centers on the teenage heroes of Hawkins trying to defeat Vecna and close the gate to the Upside Down. A new trailer features a heartbreaking moment where Will (Noah Schnapp) tells his mother, Joyce (Winona Ryder), that they’ve failed. But Joyce comforts him, insisting that the fight isn’t over yet.
We were completely mistaken about the Upside Down. The final part of Stranger Things season 4 will be available on December 25th at 5 PM Pacific Time.

The new trailer is packed with action, showing everything from a risky deal between Dustin and Steve to a shocking encounter with an electrified Demogorgon. It hints at Will developing and using new abilities, which were first shown briefly at the end of the first part of the season. According to Ross Duffer, one of the show’s creators and directors, Will will be a key character this season.
As a longtime fan, I was really excited to see the show lean back into Will’s story. It always felt like his initial disappearance was the core of everything, so it made sense to bring things full circle with him. The writers had this idea early on – what if Will could actually use his connection to the Upside Down, and especially Vecna, as a weapon? It felt natural, given everything he’s been through, that he would be the one to ultimately stop the villain. It’s a satisfying arc, and honestly, it just felt right.
Gaten Matarazzo explained that Will’s developing abilities will be a major turning point for the group in Hawkins. Finn Wolfhard, playing Mike, playfully compared it to having ‘two Elevens,’ highlighting the new strength Will brings. The trailer concludes with Vecna announcing the dawn of a ‘new world,’ leaving viewers anticipating the final confrontation.
The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is now available on Netflix, with the first four episodes already released. The remaining episodes will arrive on Christmas Day, and the very last episode will premiere on New Year’s Eve. Both parts will become available to stream at 5 p.m. Pacific Time / 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
