The complete trailer for Stranger Things Season 5 is here, giving fans the best preview of the show’s final season on Netflix – and it opens with a lot of turmoil.
Trailer Teases a High-Stakes Finale
The last season of the show starts with Hawkins under military control as a new danger from Vecna emerges. The trailer shows the whole group reunited and already battling this threat, continuing the story right after the last season’s finale.
Things are moving very quickly this season,” explained Ross Duffer. “After their defeat, the characters are now dealing with the consequences.
Matt Duffer explained that Hawkins is no longer a normal town. It’s under constant watch, and the characters feel trapped, pressured, and like time is running out. According to director and executive producer Shawn Levy, even though the show has bigger action sequences and special effects now, the story still focuses on the characters and their feelings.

Where the Characters Are Now
- Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is in combat mode, focused on protecting her friends.
- Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) is trying to hold things together as the threat grows.
- Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) feels the pressure of unfinished business with Vecna still loose.
- Will (Noah Schnapp) is back in Hawkins and immediately thrown into the chaos.
- Max (Sadie Sink) remains in limbo after Season 4, but her friends are holding onto hope.
- Mike (Finn Wolfhard) is back leading the mission to track Vecna down and end it.
Okay, so the cast for this is stacked. You’ve got Winona Ryder, of course, who’s amazing, and David Harbour is just perfect. Then there’s Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke – they’re all fantastic. And it’s great to see Priah Ferguson and Brett Gelman back, plus Jamie Campbell Bower, Cara Buono, and Amybeth McNulty. They’ve even added Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Alex Breaux, and wow, Linda Hamilton! Seriously, a really impressive group of actors.
