Steven Spielberg has officially revealed the title and first teaser for his long-awaited UFO movie.

The new movie, Disclosure Day, will be shown in theaters only, starting June 12, 2026, and is being distributed by Universal Pictures.

Spielberg’s Disclosure Day is a brand new movie he both created and directed, signaling his comeback to big-budget science fiction films.

This new project feels like a return to his classic films – movies like Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and War of the Worlds. Those films were known for exploring how people felt and reacted to extraordinary events, rather than just focusing on big visual effects.

David Koepp Reunites With Spielberg

David Koepp wrote the screenplay. He’s worked with director Steven Spielberg before, having penned films like Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

These movies together grossed over $3 billion globally. Koepp also penned the script for the 2025 film, Jurassic World Rebirth.
