As an ardent fan who’s followed Steve Harvey’s career since his days at the Apollo Theatre, I can hardly contain my excitement about this upcoming biopic! This man has been a beacon of inspiration, resilience, and humor throughout his decades-long journey in showbiz.
A biographical film about Steve Harvey’s life is being developed! This highly influential comedian and television host’s significant milestones and remarkable career will be depicted in a biopic produced by Objectively Good Media, as reported by Deadline.
Based on reports, it’s been announced that Mohamed Kheir, Matthew R. Cooper from the mentioned company, Harvey’s East 112 led by Steve Harvey himself, and Thabiti Stephens as Chief Strategy Officer of Steve Harvey Global will produce this upcoming venture. At present, there has been no announcement regarding who will write the biopic.
This project will focus on a pivotal 72-hour stretch leading up to one of the TV presenter’s most significant performances, which took place at the Apollo Theatre in 1993. The endeavor aims to offer an honest portrayal of the challenges and hardships Harvey encountered in his professional life during that timeframe.
After ditching his secure sales position at age 26 to venture into the realm of comedy, he encountered numerous difficulties. As he approached the age of 36, he faced a period where self-doubt crept in and he grappled with personal issues while preparing for a crucial performance.
According to the article, OGM developed and proposed this idea to Harvey and East 112. The TV host expressed hesitation for a long time about creating a film based on his life, but was inspired by Seventy-Two‘s pitch. The movie focuses on the toughest stages of his personal and professional journey, emphasizing that hope can never truly disappear. He teased, “You’ll be amazed by what we have planned for this project.”
Kheir conveyed that it was a privilege for them to obtain the chance to share his story. Furthermore, he mentioned, “Steve Harvey’s ability to transform hardships into victories is motivating, and Seventy-Two will highlight the tenacity and perseverance that characterized those crucial moments. We eagerly anticipate revealing this compelling tale to audiences around the globe.”
Clearly, the remarkable comedian has maintained a notable presence throughout his lengthy career, a feat that few others have successfully accomplished. The array of accomplishments, awards, and acknowledgements he has earned certainly deserve respect.
