Stephen Graham Calls Out Exceptionally Disrespectful Stars Who Don’t Arrive on Time

Stephen Graham recently expressed his annoyance with some fellow actors, particularly those who are well-known. Speaking at a panel in Los Angeles, the 52-year-old complained about their lack of professionalism on set, specifically pointing to lateness as a display of arrogance.

The celebrated actor, famous for films like Gangs of New York and The Irishman, strongly stated that being late is deeply disrespectful to the hardworking film crew. He pointed out that crew members arrive hours before the actors and stay long after, only to be kept waiting because some performers act like their time isn’t valuable.

Graham strongly criticized this self-centered behavior, calling it unpleasant and pointing out that acting like one is irreplaceable and deserves special treatment isn’t fair. He emphasized that making movies is a team effort and that the hard work of everyone involved, especially those working behind the scenes, deserves recognition.

The actor recently shared some honest thoughts following a very successful period in his career, especially with his hit Netflix drama, Adolescence. He just won a Golden Globe for his role in the series, which tells a difficult story about the aftermath when a father’s teenage son is arrested for murder.

I absolutely loved the show, and I’m already hoping for more! But apparently, a second season is still a ways off. I read that Graham said the idea is currently just floating around in his and Jack Thorne’s thoughts, and it might be three or four years before they really start working on it again. It’s a long wait, but I understand these things take time, and I’m happy to be patient for something truly special.

If the show comes back, it might be as a series of separate stories instead of continuing the Miller family’s storyline. Graham has said he’d like to tell a completely new story, emphasizing that the original series was meant to be a small, heartfelt British tale made with honesty and care.

The show was a big winner at this year’s awards, with Erin Doherty and Owen Cooper both receiving trophies. Cooper’s win was especially remarkable because, at just 16 years old, he became the second-youngest male to ever win a Globe award – all while studying for his school exams.

In his acceptance speech, Graham shared a heartfelt moment dedicated to his wife, Hannah Walters. He explained that she had profoundly changed his life, telling her directly, “You saved my life.” He also expressed gratitude for their two children and his father.

The actor will also be starring in the new Disney+ series A Thousand Blows, a historical drama about the dangerous world of underground boxing in London during the 1880s. Written by Steven Knight, the show also features Malachi Kirby and Erin Doherty, who previously worked with the actor on another gripping story.

In the new movie Deliver Me from Nowhere, Graham appears in a story about the creation of Bruce Springsteen’s famous 1982 album, Nebraska. Jeremy Allen White plays Springsteen, and Graham has a key role as someone close to the musician during that important time in his career.

Graham remains a highly respected actor, celebrated for the genuine and believable performances he delivers. He and his wife also run Matriarch Productions, a company currently working on new projects to help more diverse voices be heard in British cinema.
