Stellar Blade Gets Surprise Update, and It Has More Fixes Than Expected

A fresh update for the hit action-adventure game, Stellar Blade, has been released on both PC and PS5 platforms, addressing multiple persistent problems within the game. Usually, updates for

In April 2024, the action-packed game Stellar Blade initially launched exclusively on PS5. However, PC gamers got to enjoy it starting June, where it quickly sold over a million copies within a week. The launch was accompanied by various enhancements like full mod support, new Nano Suits, improved facial animations and voice acting in multiple languages, and a challenging new boss battle.

In early July, the developers at Shift Up expressed their gratitude to fans for their continued support with free in-game gifts such as freshly arranged songs and the introduction of Hard Mode from the game’s beginning. Players can now acquire these Stellar Blade perks on the Steam Points Shop, and while the team is busy working on the sequel, it seems that support for the original game isn’t winding down just yet.

On August 3, an unexpected update was rolled out for the game Stellar Blade. Now, PS5 gamers are running Version 1.013 and PC users have updated to Version 1.3.0. Although this update doesn’t introduce new content, it resolves several nagging issues that players had been experiencing. For instance, a bug where newly acquired items wouldn’t show up after boosting the shop’s affinity level has been rectified. Furthermore, various dialogue glitches have been straightened out, and a peculiar bug causing Eve’s hair to vanish during specific outfits in the final Elder Naytiba cutscene on certain costumes has also been mended. These fixes follow the beneficial June 2025 update for Stellar Blade, which primarily targeted PC-related problems.

It’s not surprising that whispers about a potential port of Stellar Blade for the Nintendo Switch 2 have started circulating, considering it has sold more than 3 million copies across various platforms. In June, it was mentioned that Shift Up was given a development kit for the upcoming hybrid console, and they are allegedly fine-tuning the action-adventure game to run smoothly on the new hardware. However, an official release date is yet to be announced.

Back in the start of this year, Shift Up announced that they were developing a sequel to the game “Stellar Blade,” with a possible release date as soon as 2026. In addition, they’re busy with “Project Spirits,” previously known as “Project Witches.” This multi-platform game is centered around the theme of “Eastern Fantasy” and is expected to be launched worldwide in 2027.
