STAR WARS: VISIONS Gets Season 3, Plus New Spin-Off Series, THE NINTH JEDI

In the first two instalments of “Star Wars: Visions,” fans were left spellbound by a distinct interpretation of the galaxy beyond our own. This latest adaptation was directly influenced by Japanese anime and doesn’t align with the franchise’s main storyline continuity. At the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, Lucasfilm announced that a third season of this beloved series will be available on Disney+ starting October 29.

The upcoming season of “Visions” will feature three sequels to shorts from the first season, including “The Duel: Payback,” and “The Lost Ones,” a follow-up to “The Village Bride.” What’s more, they also announced an exciting spin-off titled “Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi.

At the Star Wars Celebration event, Kenji Kamiyama, creator of “The Ninth Jedi,” unveiled a fresh spin-off series. He expressed his gratitude to fans for their warm reception of characters Kara and Jedi Master Juro, despite only one appearance in the original. Excitingly, he disclosed that the next episode within Visions will continue their Jedi adventure. To everyone’s delight, Kamiyama also shared that the story of Kara will carry on in a new spinoff titled Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi.

The animated series, titled “Star Wars: Visions,” initially debuted on Disney+ in 2021, consisting of nine separate animated shorts. One of these, titled “The Ninth Jedi,” centered around a blacksmith’s daughter and was set in a universe where the color of a lightsaber reflects the user’s emotions. The characters Lah Kara, voiced by Chinatsu Akasaki, and Margrave Juro, voiced by Tetsuo Kanao, were featured in this short. The second season of “Star Wars: Visions” followed in 2023, with the third season set to include a short called “Child of Hope.” This continuation of the “Ninth Jedi” story will focus on Kara and Juro and will directly lead into the limited series “The Ninth Jedi” which is scheduled for release the following year.
