As a lifelong Star Wars fan who has seen the original trilogy more times than I care to admit, the announcement of a third season of Star Wars: Visions is like receiving a gift from the Force itself! Growing up in Japan, I’ve always been enamored with anime and its rich storytelling, so I can’t wait to see how these Japanese studios breathe fresh life into the galaxy far, far away. And with studios like David Production, Kamikaze Douga+ ANIMA, Kinema Citrus, Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, and WIT Studio on board, I’m sure we’re in for a visual treat!
Star Wars: Visions offers fans a fresh, unique outlook on the distant galaxy. The initial two seasons brim with charming characters and interstellar escapades, making it no surprise that Disney and Lucasfilm have opted to continue the series for a third season, or as they put it, Volume 3, which is slated for release in 2025.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Volume 3 will transport us to Japan with nine fresh animated shorts from various anime studios within the country. The participating Japanese studios for this project are David Production, Kamikaze Douga+ ANIMA, Kinema Citrus, Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, and WIT Studio.
