It appears that the Star Wars series, titled The Acolyte, has been ranked as one of the least popular shows currently streaming on Disney+.
Last year, fresh data indicates that the Star Wars series on Disney+ didn’t meet expectations, much like Marvel did during the same period.
It’s not unexpected news. We’ve discussed this matter multiple times before, but it’s important to remind you that Disney+ has the Nielsen ratings enabled on your account by default. The recent Star Wars and Marvel series have consistently struggled with low ratings and audience engagement.
Information from Luminate Ratings, co-owned by Eldridge Industries and Penske Media Corp., is echoed here. These entities control numerous influential platforms like Deadline, THR, Variety, among others. When these prominent sites express negativity, it’s often a sign that things aren’t favorable.

What does the data reveal?
According to Deadline’s self-developed rating system, Luminate mentions that both Star Wars and Marvel series experienced lower viewership compared to the previous year. Additionally, it has been found that Amazon Prime Video’s “Rings of Power” saw a significant drop in viewership as many viewers stopped watching during its first season. Among the disappointing Marvel shows on Disney+, based on Nielsen data, are “Echo” and “Agatha,” which have the least number of viewers and lowest ratings.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but acknowledge that some of my favorite franchises, such as Marvel, Star Wars, and Rings of Power, didn’t quite shine last year as they typically do. For instance, the second season of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series saw a 60% decrease in total viewing minutes compared to its first season, and Disney+ didn’t escape this trend either, with shows like Echo and Agatha All Along falling short compared to their preceding Marvel streaming series.
The Acolyte coming in second is something to celebrate?
Concerning “The Acolyte”, it turns out this series is quite amusing. I’ve come across various social media posts and Reddit discussions from enthusiastic fans who passionately argue to justify their fandom, stating that “The Acolyte” received favorable reviews due to the following points, as reported by Deadline:
However, even though smaller IP franchises like “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” were the most watched series on Disney+ last year with over 3 billion minutes viewed, and “The Acolyte” came in second with 2.7 billion, it’s not entirely clear what this means for future content decisions.
Absolutely, The Acolyte finishes as runner-up, but isn’t it telling if you’re on top of the heap of refuse? Let me clarify: it signifies that you’re still trash.
To the fans, please inform me as soon as they reveal the release of Season 2 for “The Acolyte” and likewise for “Agatha”. I’m eagerly waiting to hear about when “She-Hulk” and “Ms. Marvel” will be coming out too!
