As an obsessed fan, I can hardly contain my excitement when I read about young Ravi Cabot-Conyers’ incredible encounter with Tom Holland! The sheer joy and admiration he exudes for his idol are truly infectious.
For teenager Ravi Cabot-Conyers, who stars in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, the idea of unexpectedly meeting or speaking with our favorite celebrities, such as Tom Holland (Spider-Man), seemed like a dream. Yet, surprisingly, this magical encounter became a reality for him when he had a call on FaceTime with the very man himself!
Ravi, the actor portraying Wim in the project, chatted with The Hollywood Reporter and disclosed that he had a FaceTime conversation with Holland. This interaction took place thanks to George Cottle, who had collaborated with Holland on the Spider-Man trilogy as a unit director and stunt coordinator, setting up the call, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Ravi, reminiscing about the origin of the FaceTime call, shared, “Robert (playing Neel) asked, ‘How was it working with Tom Holland?’ George Cottle responded, ‘Should I give him a call and find out?’ So we did, and I was thrilled beyond words.
Ravi stated, “I’ve long admired Tom and consider myself a devoted fan. Not only were George and Tom incredibly gracious to us that day, but it turned out they were joking with us while I thought Holland was unavailable.” Ravi found the whole scenario quite amusing because Holland actually wasn’t on their set at the time.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share this amusing anecdote: The actor reminisced about a time when Cottle himself commented on how swiftly I grasped stunts compared to the famed Cherry star. It was quite humorous!
In the interview, Ravi shared his initial encounter with Star Wars, a franchise that’s close to half a century old.
As a kid, the actor recalled that it was his father who initially introduced him to the popular series, since he’d been a devoted Star Wars fan since forever. His first viewing of Star Wars: A New Hope happened when he went to the cinema with his sibling as a child.
When the artist reminisced, he shared that his father had introduced him to Star Wars: A New Hope when he was roughly five years old. The story’s main character, Luke Skywalker, captivated him and struck a chord, making it an instant favorite for the young boy.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but shower praise on Mark Hamill’s exceptional performance. His portrayal is nothing short of iconic, deliberate, and deeply impactful. To put it simply, lightsabers have held a special place in my heart, and as a result, I’ve been an ardent fan. It’s no exaggeration to say that this influence has played a significant role in shaping my life.
At first, Ravi admitted that the grand history of the franchise made him feel somewhat apprehensive when he learned he’d be in charge of Skeleton Crew. However, in the end, he genuinely relished the time spent on this role.
You can catch Star Wars: Skeleton Crew on Disney+.
