Star Wars Outlaws Continues to Struggle While Jedi: Survivor Outpaces it in 2024

It appears that Ubisoft’s latest title, “Star Wars Outlaws“, has not achieved the level of success they were aiming for. Although there was a great deal of excitement about this open-world Star Wars game, its actual performance fell short of expectations.

In the continent of Europe, Star Wars Outlaws ranked as the 47th highest-selling game during the year 2024. Interestingly, it didn’t manage to sell as many copies as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a title that debuted a year prior in 2023.

Ubisoft has faced financial repercussions due to the underperformance of their latest game. Following its release, the company’s stock prices dropped to levels not seen since 2015. Analysts pointed out that the production cost for Outlaws was at least 30% more than Assassin’s Creed Mirage, but it failed to perform as well by approximately 15%.

To tackle these hurdles, Ubisoft has opted for strategic modifications. They’ve pushed back the release of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” to February 2025, giving them more time to fine-tune the game and guarantee a simultaneous debut on Steam. This move was inspired by the insights gained from “Star Wars Outlaws”.

Furthermore, Ubisoft is working on enhancing “Star Wars Outlaws” to draw in more players over the holidays. Notably, they’ve made it available on Steam, with the intention of increasing its reach and revenue.
