And here’s the official synopsis for Shadow Lord from Lucasfilm:
Following the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this action-packed story takes place on a remote planet where Maul is trying to restore his criminal empire. He encounters a discouraged young Jedi learner, and sees in them a potential apprentice who could help him achieve his long-sought revenge.
The series Maul: Shadow Lord tells the story of how the former Sith Lord went from being a defeated fighter to the leader of a massive criminal organization. Viewers will likely see how he rose to power after leading Crimson Dawn in Solo and before the events of Rebels. Sam Witwer, who previously voiced Maul in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, will reprise his role. The series was created by Dave Filoni, a co-president at Lucasfilm.
The cast includes Sam Witwer alongside Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, and Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio-Daki. Other supporting actors are Chris Diamantopoulos as Looti Vario, Charlie Bushnell as Rylee Lawson, Vanessa Marshall (from Rebels) as Rook Kast, David C. Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as the Inquisitor Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus.
Episodes one and two of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord debut on April 6 on Disney+.
