The claim persists that the Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie featuring Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy isn’t cancelled, as reports suggest a new writer has been assigned to work on the script.
I’ve misplaced track of how many authors have worked on it so far, but it seems that George Nolfi is the fourth writer to join the team for “New Jedi Order.” As per industry reports, George Nolfi has been appointed as the new scribe. Known for “The Adjustment Bureau,” “The Bourne Ultimatum,” “Ocean’s Twelve,” and the “Allegiance” TV series, Nolfi is the latest addition to the project.
The news comes after it was disclosed that Shawn Levy’s Star Wars film with Ryan Gosling in the lead role is set to progress. Naturally, such news is expected.
My take on the situation is that certain individuals at Lucasfilm may feel pressure to maintain their positions, which led them to devise the Daisy Ridley-centric Star Wars concept and the misleading idea that Ridley represents the future of Star Wars. I previously stated this idea was nonsense. Additionally, I predicted that future Star Wars would feature a male protagonist, and it seems my prediction has proven accurate. You may recall that I was also the first to forecast that no new Star Wars films would be produced following The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker, and I was correct (my apologies to those who doubted me).
The plot for the Daisy Ridley Star Wars movie, set 15 years after “Rise of the Skywalker,” is said to involve Rey, who is rumored to be Emperor Palpatine’s granddaughter, running a Jedi school. Is it true that the granddaughter of the Emperor is training new Jedis? That seems hard to believe and could end up being another box office disaster if it actually happens.
It appears that Bob Iger is stepping down from Disney in 2026, and it’s quite likely that Kathleen Kennedy may also depart around the same time. The pendulum seems to have swung back. The attempts at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) have ultimately proven unsuccessful – a prediction I’ve made for quite some time now. It’s expected that the focus on DEI will diminish, hopefully making way for high-quality content and storytelling instead. The entertainment industry can’t keep losing money indefinitely, especially with the recent abandonment of DEI funding. There simply hasn’t been, nor ever will be, a significant audience for it.
