As a die-hard Star Wars fan with memories of the original trilogy etched deep within my heart, I must say that these recent developments have sent waves of excitement coursing through me! The return of Yord and Jecki is not just a revival, but a reunion with old friends who left us too soon in The Acolyte.
It’s an exciting era for Star Wars enthusiasts as Acolyte Jedi Yord and Jecki prepare to reemerge in the Star Wars galaxy. But their return may not be quite what fans anticipate.
Over the past weekend at New York Comic Con, I had the exciting opportunity to learn some significant updates about Star Wars’ forthcoming novels and comic series. It was then revealed that my favorite authors, Tess Gratton, will be delving deeper into the lives of Yord and Jecki in an upcoming novel.
For those not in the know, it was revealed back in July at the San Diego Comic-Con that the novel was planned. At the time, all we knew was that it would be a Young Adult (YA) book, taking place during the years preceding The Acolyte.
As reported by Comicbook.com, the book at hand is named “The Crystal Crown”. Additionally, Star Wars has shared the cover artwork for their forthcoming novel.
The outlet has even reported that The Crystal Crown would be published in July 2025.
Per reports, the novel will be taking place in the High Republic era.
Simultaneously, the latest Star Wars news isn’t the sole intriguing detail; at the New York Comic Con, Marvel unveiled the cover artwork for the second issue of Star Wars: The High Republic comics as well.
The aforementioned comic would feature a few more The Acolyte fan-favorite characters, Lourna Dee and Kelnacca.
If you’re unaware, the beloved characters Jecki and Yord from The Acolyte series met a tragic end in the Disney+ series, as they were portrayed as deceased.
In this production, Dafne Keen took on the character of Jecki, whereas Charlie Barnett embodied the legendary role of Yord. Yet, the storyline ultimately led to both characters’ fates being determined by Qimir, portrayed by the talented Manny Jacinto.
After the heartbreaking farewell of these two cherished characters, the series’ creator, Leslye Headland, assured fans that they would reappear in the storyline at some point.
Back in July of this year, Headland stated that he and Pablo Hidalgo had discussed certain topics. Since the end of the season, he has expressed a desire to see some ideas they talked about being realized.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m excited to share that you can stream the highly anticipated series, “Star Wars: The Acolyte,” on Disney+. Mark your calendars for July 2025, as “Star Wars: The Acolyte – The Crystal Crown” is set to be released then.
