Star Trek’s Section 31 Shocks Fans with Jamie Lee Curtis Cameo!

For fans of Star Trek who make it all the way through the Star Trek: Section 31 movie, there’s a delightful surprise in store. Towards the end of the film, when Empress Phillipa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) and her team of covert operatives finish their first mission and save the Federation, they return to Georgiou’s clandestine space casino. It is here that they receive a transmission from their contact within Section 31, instructing them on their next assignment. The emissary from the upper echelons of Section 31, referred to as “Control,” is none other than Michelle Yeoh’s co-star from Everything, Everywhere, All At Once (and fellow Academy Award winner) Jamie Lee Curtis.

In Curtis’ brief scene, she seems to be an alien with violet skin and facial cybernetic enhancements. However, it’s too early in the series for her to be a freed Borg drone, so we’re unsure about the purpose of the metallic markings. Perhaps they are simply for aesthetic appeal? The only violet-skinned humanoid aliens we know from Star Trek lore are the Violaceans, but they were rarely main characters. Interestingly, when Control dispatches Georgiou’s agents, she references a mission to Turkana IV – a world familiar to fans of The Next Generation, as it was where Lt. Tasha Yar and her sister originated from.

Is it possible that Jamie Lee Curtis’ character Control will reappear in a Star Trek project in the future? That could happen if they plan another storyline involving the Section 31 cast. It’s not something we’d put money on, but who knows what might transpire in the realm of Star Trek. Many fans would likely welcome more of Jamie Lee Curtis in the Star Trek universe. Given that the mask from Halloween’s Michael Myers is modeled after William Shatner’s Captain Kirk mask, it seems that both Laurie Strode and Michael Myers now share a connection with Star Trek. Admittedly, that’s an interesting twist.
