Todd Stashwick hasn’t ruled out returning to Star Trek. He recently told TrekMovie he’d love to play Shaw again, especially if the planned spinoff series, Star Trek: Legacy, moves forward.
Stashwick said Paramount hasn’t made much progress on the show or any other Star Trek series lately.
He expressed his enthusiasm for returning if the show is approved. “I really enjoy acting, and I especially love playing Shaw within the Star Trek world. More importantly, I cherish working with the cast – Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, Ed Speleers, Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut, and Mica Burton. If the project moves forward with that same team, I’d be thrilled to be a part of it,” he stated.
“If that means appearing as a hologram, and it contributes to my health and pension, I’m there.”
Earlier this year, Jeri Ryan, who is also involved in the planned spinoff, shared a hopeful outlook about Legacy, suggesting that the series still has a chance of happening. She encouraged fans not to rule it out.
Paramount’s recent combination with Skydance, and ongoing discussions about other mergers – like the one with Warner Bros. that’s currently on hold – have left the studio in a period of uncertainty. This makes the future of the ‘Star Trek: Legacy’ project unclear, and it’s unknown if or when it will begin production.
Stashwick is eager to rejoin the project as soon as it gets the go-ahead. He stated he’d be thrilled to work with the team again, expressing his enthusiasm for the series and the Star Trek franchise.
