Spider-Man Takes on Godzilla: Epic Crossover Revealed!

Marvel is venturing into uncharted realms with a thrilling crossover event. A fresh series of unique one-off comics places the legendary Godzilla in direct confrontation with renowned Marvel characters, and the latest encounter has been disclosed: the anticipated clash between Godzilla versus Spider-Man #1.

In the heart of the 1980s, not long after Peter Parker emerged from the Battleworld saga depicted in Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars, we find ourselves revisiting an era. During this period, Peter was grappling with the enigmatic alien symbiote suit he had acquired.

As he’s getting used to his newly acquired abilities, all of a sudden, Godzilla appears on the scene, menacing New York City.

On April 30, 2025, a project penned by Joe Kelly will be unveiled. Interestingly, he’s not only the author but also the new lead writer for Marvel’s revamped Amazing Spider-Man series. The artwork is entrusted to Nick Bradshaw, renowned for his vibrant style seen in the Wolverine and the X-Men.

Apart from Lee Garbett and Greg Land, Bradshaw additionally creates cover art as well. Kelly expressed his enthusiasm, stating that this tale offers an opportunity to immerse oneself in the turmoil of the 1980s while maintaining respect for the legacies of Spider-Man and Godzilla.

Marvel has a knack for pitting its superheroes against colossal beasts, as evidenced by earlier installments such as Fantastic Four vs. Godzilla #1 in March and Hulk vs. Godzilla #1 in April. In contrast to DC’s latest crossover, Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong, which presents the MonsterVerse iterations of Godzilla and King Kong, Marvel’s series concentrates on the iconic Toho version of Godzilla.

This post continues the discussion after the release of IDW’s “Godzilla vs. Los Angeles” #1, a charitable comic designed to aid wildfire relief efforts. It’s evident that 2025 promises a thrilling lineup for comic book crossovers. Stay tuned for further news on Marvel’s ambitious projects.
