As I eagerly anticipate the upcoming film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” I find myself intrigued by a tantalizing piece of news – Michael Mando, reprising his role, seems to be hinting at something exciting: a potential transformation into the formidable Scorpion. The suspense is palpable!

Scorpion Teased in New Instagram Stories

One photo captures Mando posed for a monochrome selfie, emphasizing a striking tattoo on his neck that bears a resemblance to the spider-like design from the movie, “Spider-Man: Homecoming”.

The tale showcased a detailed view of an original Marvel Legends Scorpion action figure, sealed inside its vintage Spider-Man cartoon series box.

Additionally, he posted comic illustrations depicting Scorpion and Venom ensnared in webs, concluding with a striking “ST!NG” logo in bold red. Without any accompanying text, it appears that Mac Gargan has fully embraced the role of Scorpion.

First Introduced in Homecoming

Mando first appeared as Mac Gargan in Homecoming back in 2017.

Spectators had theorized that his meeting with Michael Keaton’s character, Vulture, during incarceration hinted at plans to establish him as an upcoming antagonist in a storyline similar to the Sinister Six. However, these predictions never came true – until recently.

It appears that “Brand New Day” is shifting towards a grittier, urban narrative, and with several villains integrated into the storyline already, it seems Marvel is now ready to initiate the metamorphosis of Gargan.

Villain Roster Building

The movie is shaping up to feature an intense roster of grounded characters.

Jon Bernthal reprises his role as the Punisher, while Mark Ruffalo is set to appear as a potential Savage Hulk, and there’s much anticipation for other villains making an appearance, such as Lady Chameleon, Tombstone, Boomerang, and Tarantula.

Steven Yeun and Sara Snook are also rumored to be playing unknown roles.
