Recently released Spider-Man: Brand New Day merchandise seems to hint at which major villains and even a prominent Avenger will appear in the upcoming movie.
A popular new backpack and lunchbox set showcases Spider-Man and subtly includes designs of other Marvel characters like Boomerang, the Hulk, and Scorpion in the background.

Boomerang Gets His Comic-Accurate Look
New merchandise features Boomerang wearing the same costume seen in Nick Spencer’s comics, including Superior Foes of Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man.
The costume – including the blue suit and goggles – is based on the older, classic comic book look of the character, rather than a more modern, updated version seen in the MCU.
There’s been talk that Harry Holland, Tom Holland’s brother, might be cast as Boomerang in the movie. While it hasn’t been officially announced, recently released merchandise designs closely resemble the character’s look in the comics.

Michael Mando Returns as Scorpion
The shadowy figure in the background of the merch strongly resembles Mac Gargan.
Michael Mando, who appeared as Gargan in Spider-Man: Homecoming, hinted at a future role in a post-credits scene by questioning who Spider-Man was.
The latest artwork reveals Scorpion in a complete suit of armor, a look fans have eagerly anticipated for years. The design closely resembles his armored appearance from the comics, and he’s shown in a powerful, combat-ready pose.

Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk Looks Savage Again
The merch also features the Hulk, and it’s not the goofy Smart Hulk.
I’m really getting a classic, furious Hulk vibe from this image – it reminds me a lot of the Savage Hulk from the comics! It makes total sense with Mark Ruffalo coming back as Bruce Banner; it feels like we’re seeing that raw, primal side of the Hulk again, and I’m excited about it.
There’s also talk that we might see a Gray Hulk, suggesting the movie will explore Bruce Banner’s complex mental state even further.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters July 31, 2026.
The movie will star Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, and Sadie Sink. Jon Bernthal will also appear as The Punisher.
