‘Spider-Man 4’ Storyline Reportedly Revised, Kingpin No Longer Included

As a die-hard Spider-Man fan who’s been following the web-slinger’s adventures since the Tobey Maguire days, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anticipation for “Spider-Man 4”. The rumors about Kingpin and Daredevil joining the fray have me pumped up like a freshly-injected Spidey serum!

The highly awaited “Spider-Man 4” is currently being worked on within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This project is set to initiate a fresh trilogy, and there’s been quite a bit of buzz lately about potential spoilers and whispers suggesting what could be in store for this movie.

It seems the upcoming film is intended to focus on a tale set among everyday people, moving away from the multiverse concepts delved into in earlier versions. There’s talk that characters like Kingpin and Daredevil might show up, contributing to the storyline by keeping it relatable and down-to-earth.

As per Tom Holland’s recent announcements, the screenplay for “Spider-Man 4” is still being developed, which means the circulating rumors about it are yet to be verified. In a recent Q&A on Discord, Alex Perez hinted that the Kingpin and street-level setting may no longer feature in the upcoming movie.

Additionally, Perez mentioned that the potential release of “Spider-Man 4” is currently set for July 2026, a date previously assigned by Marvel Studios but now allotted to Sony Pictures.

Though it’s undecided which movie will connect “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” “Spider-Man 4” appears to be a front-runner for the role. It’s expected that Zendaya will reprise her character MJ, and filming is projected to start towards the end of this year, aligning with its scheduled release date.

In a possible turn of events, J.K. Simmons may once again take on his character J. Jonah Jameson, alongside other potential newcomers such as Ned, as Peter Parker transitions to Empire State University. There’s buzz surrounding the possibility of antagonists from “No Way Home” resurfacing and the introduction of the symbiote. However, according to Perez, it seems more likely that the symbiote will appear in “Secret Wars,” not necessarily in “Spider-Man 4.”

In other words, there’s a possibility that the plot could shift in “Spider-Man 4,” delaying the debut of Kingpin and the possible emergence of Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius. As for the director, it hasn’t been officially announced yet, but there are whispers that Marvel is contemplating several potential options.

Indeed, it’s important to note that the details presented here are mostly conjectural and haven’t been verified yet. Given Perez’s history of trustworthiness, though, it seems prudent to explore these hypotheses until more definitive information emerges.
