Spencer Pratt and Wife Heidi Montag Sue City of Los Angeles After Losing Home in Devastating Wildfires

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, well-known celebrities, are currently taking legal action against the city of Los Angeles following the loss of their home due to destructive wildfires. They’ve been supported by 20 other individuals who have also submitted lawsuits at the Los Angeles Superior Court, as mentioned in Entertainment Weekly. The lawsuit was officially filed on January 23, 2025.

As per the court case, the couple claims that the city and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) have been improperly handling the water distribution in their neighborhood.

According to reports, the lawsuit claims that the Santa Ynez Reservoir was being repaired and essentially unusable when the California wildfire broke out in the area, causing extensive property damage. This situation supposedly resulted in an insufficient water source for combating the fire, a claim made in the lawsuit.

The lawsuits claim that the hydrants in Pacific Palisades stopped working effectively, following a period of only 12 hours where three large water tanks (each storing a million gallons) had run completely dry.

The accusation further states that the defendants arranged the water supply system in a manner that it would fail to generate sufficient water pressure to extinguish an urban blaze.

As reported by the source, those who initiated the lawsuit are aiming for unspecified compensation, encompassing costs related to fixing or replacing their damaged property, lost earnings, and repayment of their legal expenditures.

Besides Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, other parties involved in the lawsuit are Janet and William Pratt. According to Spencer’s sister Stephanie, these individuals too suffered as victims of the wildfire.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Stephanie revealed that her parents lost their home in the disaster as well.
