Sophie Turner publicly endorsed her former spouse Joe Jonas by posting about his new album on social media. On Saturday, May 24th, the actress shared a link to Jonas’ latest creation, Music for People Who Believe in Love, on her Instagram Stories. Accompanying the link, she penned, “Go go @joejonas.
On May 23rd, last Friday, Joe Jonas unveiled his long-awaited solo album. This is his initial standalone work since 2011’s Fastlife. The fresh offering has garnered interest not only for its tunes but also for the insights it provides into Jonas’ recent personal transformations, such as his divorce from Turner.
Jonas revealed that the album wasn’t initially intended as a solo venture; instead, it was being developed for a Jonas Brothers project. He explained, “We were composing songs for a collective effort, but I became deeply attached to one particular track. I asked the others for permission to work on it individually, explaining that it held a very personal significance.
I vividly remember my brother, Nick Jonas, backing the choice, expressing, “Well, I understand. A tad of envy creeps in, but I comprehend. Since I didn’t pen it, I can’t exactly refuse.
Jonas collaborated with musicians Justin Trainor, Alexander 23, and Lush to finish the album in a short period of time. He expressed his eagerness to unveil it, almost prematurely releasing it last autumn, but is now relieved that he delayed it. He believes the track “Heart by Heart” wouldn’t have been included on the album if he had launched it sooner.
Joe Jonas disclosed that part of the creation process for the album stemmed from his separation with Sophie Turner. During a chat with Billboard in August 2024, he revealed that this phase was at once terrifying and liberating.
Jonas made it clear that his songs weren’t intended to single out anyone or disclose private information. Instead, he explained that he was dealing with numerous life transitions, exploring his identity as an individual, father, and friend. During this tumultuous period, he found solace in music, using it as a means of expression.
