Sophie Turner Is Open to Returning to the ‘Game of Thrones’ World — But Only Under One Condition

I recently chatted with Sophie Turner while she was promoting her new movie, Steal, and of course, Game of Thrones came up. She shared what she thinks about potentially returning as Sansa Stark if HBO ever decides to revisit that world with a sequel. It’s definitely something fans will be interested to hear!

Turner said returning to the series would be a mix of excitement and difficulty. She jokingly referenced the famous movie line, then added, “It would be tough, but also incredible, to revisit the role.”

Turner also thought about how her character’s storyline finished in the original show. She shared that she felt good about Sansa’s ending in Season 8, even though not every character had a happy outcome.

Look, as a critic, I have to say I was actually satisfied with how Sansa’s arc concluded in ‘Game of Thrones.’ It felt earned and right for her character. Honestly, I felt like she got the best ending of the bunch, and that’s why I’m hesitant to ever go back and re-examine that final season. It would probably just ruin a good feeling!

Even though she had some doubts, Turner didn’t completely rule out the possibility of returning. She said it would depend on the quality of the story and script. She explained, “It could be really wonderful, or it could feel like trying to recapture something special that just isn’t there anymore. I’d need to read the script to know for sure.”

Though Sophie Turner is hesitant about reprising her role as Sansa Stark, there’s still a chance fans could see her return. She hasn’t ruled it out completely, suggesting Sansa might reappear if a compelling storyline develops.
