Sony Drops First Trailer for Stephen Curry’s Animated Film ‘GOAT’

Sony Pictures Animation just dropped a new trailer for Goat, a funny animated movie about a young goat with big dreams of becoming a sports star.

Tyree Dillihay directed the film, with Aaron Buchsbaum and Teddy Riley writing the screenplay. Sony and Animation Magazine first announced the project, which has been under development for a few years.

I recently watched a really charming movie about this little goat named Will Harris. He’s got this huge dream of becoming a pro roarball player! Roarball is this super competitive, fast-paced sport where all kinds of animals compete, and for Will, it’s his way of showing everyone what he’s capable of.

Sony describes the movie as being set in a world where all the characters are animals. It follows Will as he tries to prove himself after becoming part of a highly skilled team. The studio’s tagline for the film is, “smalls can ball!”

Get ready for a groundbreaking new film! From the creators of KPop Demon Hunters and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and with Stephen Curry as a producer, comes #GOATmovie, hitting theaters in February 2026.

Caleb McLaughlin provides the voice for Will in a film featuring a large and talented cast. Alongside McLaughlin are Gabrielle Union, Stephen Curry, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jenifer Lewis, Aaron Pierre, Patton Oswalt, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, Eduardo Franco, Sherry Cola, Jelly Roll, and Jennifer Hudson. Most of the actors play athletes or other important figures in the world of roarball. Stephen Curry, who is also a producer on the film, voices a giraffe player, and Gabrielle Union plays a major roarball star. Jennifer Hudson voices Will’s mother.

The movie was in the works for years before Sony made an official announcement, and the cast slowly came together. This year, most of the voice actors were finalized, and production has been steadily progressing. It’s now scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on February 13, 2026.

The latest trailer highlights the movie’s funny moments and fast-paced action, offering a glimpse into Will’s journey to become a top athlete.
