Previously featured contestant Paul Danan from Love Island tragically passed away at his residence in Brislington on January 15. Despite initial investigations ruling out any family-related foul play, the circumstances surrounding his death at age 46 raised suspicions. On March 11, BBC disclosed that the cause of his demise at 46 was a mix of drugs.

At a hearing held at Avon Coroner’s Court in England, it was revealed that the individual’s death resulted from a mix of harmful substances including heroin, methadone, codeine, pregabalin, cocaine, zopiclone, and benzodiazepine (a class of anti-anxiety drugs).

Danan’s fame came from portraying Sol Patrick in the soap opera Hollyoaks and making guest appearances on popular reality shows such as Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother. According to The Guardian, it was Melissa Crooks who found him deceased.

According to officer Alexis Camp, an examination has been conducted, and some samples were collected for more detailed study. At this point, he reassured there’s no immediate worry regarding his family, and no suicide note was discovered in the vicinity of the deceased.

In order to aid the ongoing investigation, it is asked that Danan’s primary care physician, relatives, law enforcement officers, and those working within the ambulance services provide their statements to the proper authorities.

According to The Guardian, Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is additionally participating in the ongoing investigation. Initially, the judge opened the inquest and then postponed it until May 28, which has been set as a tentative date for the full hearing on this case.
