Snow Peak and Merrell are partnering again, this time revamping the 2022-launched MTL LONG SKY 2 trail running shoe. Both brands, with their love for the great outdoors, introduce the MTL Long Sky 2 Matryx SP – a robust version, now available in a sleek all-black design.
Instead of the bulky profile seen in their collaborative Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX launched in Spring, the MTL Long Sky 2 Matryx SP adopts a sleeker design with reduced upper elements. Yet, this minimal trail running shoe doesn’t skimp on its advanced features.
The top part boasts a MATRYX® upper reinforced with +TPU, which is a robust blend of Kevlar fiber and high-strength polyamide. This upgrade provides superior abrasion resistance and reduces stretching, resulting in a sleek design featuring fewer overlays and offering a breathable, comfortable feel.
Instead of the gray version from previous collaborations, Snow Peak gives this model a black-on-black design, reminiscent of the soot from an outdoor campfire. The Merrell brand name is displayed along the side, while the Snow Peak logo is placed on both the heel and insole.
More recently, Merrell has been stepping up its modern partnerships. For instance, it launched an innovative moccasin in collaboration with côte&ciel towards the end of June, and a stylish suede mule together with the London brand YMC in March.
Set for release on August 8 at Snow Peak’s physical locations and webstore.
