This show updates the familiar Jeopardy! game for a new audience. Teams of three players face off in a tournament, testing their knowledge of everything from alternative rock music to obscure details about the Marvel universe.

Suzanne Prete, who heads game shows at Sony Pictures TV, explained that the show’s popularity led to its renewal. She stated that Pop Culture Jeopardy! attracted viewers with its lively and enjoyable format, while staying true to the classic Jeopardy! brand and allowing fans to showcase their knowledge of current trends.

The show’s first season launched in December 2024 and awarded the winning team $300,000. The next season, coming to Netflix, plans to keep up that tradition and reach viewers around the world. Filming for the new episodes will begin this spring.

Beyond his appearance on Pop Culture Jeopardy!, Colin Jost is still very active with Saturday Night Live. He came back for Season 51 this fall, continuing to co-host “Weekend Update” with Michael Che. He’s also been working on his new comedy film, The Breadwinner, directed by Eric Appel and featuring Nate Bargatze, Mandy Moore, and Will Forte, which will be released on March 13th.

Jost has also been performing stand-up comedy, with shows scheduled in New York and Pennsylvania in February and March 2026. Recently, he’s been spotted supporting his wife, Scarlett Johansson, at screenings of her first movie as a director, Eleanor the Great.

Those who enjoy Pop Culture Jeopardy! will be excited to see Colin Jost bring his witty comedy to Netflix later this year. Moving to a streaming service means the show will likely reach a wider audience and offer even more pop culture trivia and entertainment.

Will Colin Jost do better hosting on Netflix, or was Pop Culture Jeopardy! a better show when it was originally on Prime Video?
