Sniper Elite Dev Rebellion Records Its Biggest Launch Yet with Atomfall

Last week, British video game developer Rebellion announced that Atomfall, their latest release, set a new record as the studio’s largest launch ever, with 1.5 million players enjoying the PS5 and PS4 detective game. The title was made available on Xbox Game Pass from its debut, which likely contributed to the impressive number of players.

It’s noteworthy that, alongside Sniper Elite: Resistance, which was also released in 2025, Rebellion’s game Atomfall, is being played more frequently on the subscription service. This suggests that Atomfall remains more popular than previous Rebellion releases, even considering the new method of delivery.

The sales figures were not disclosed by the team, but CEO and co-founder Jason Kingsley revealed to IGN: “Reaching over 1 million players in such a short period shows the ingenuity and commitment of everyone at Rebellion. Being a larger, stable company allows us to take risks to develop something unique like Atomfall, and it’s rewarding that this risk is proving successful.

Now, we’re going to produce additional material for the game, as an expansion has been planned for later. If you’ve found yourself engrossed in the British quarantine zone, our helpful and informative Atomfall guide is available whenever you need it.
