Sniffing Out the Future of Politics: Trump’s Fragrances

Trump: Politics You Can Smell

As a seasoned analyst with a keen eye for marketing strategies and a nose for the absurd, I must say that Trump’s latest move into the fragrance industry is nothing short of audacious. His ability to turn even the most mundane products into political statements is truly remarkable.

As a crypto investor, I’ve been following the news about the former president, and it seems he’s taking his branding to unprecedented levels – whether that’s soaring high or dipping low, depends on one’s perspective. His latest venture is a new line of fragrances, leaving me curious about what they aim to encapsulate. Is it the scent of success? Power? Or perhaps a hint of overcooked steak and Diet Coke?

Skillfully marketed to stir feelings of nostalgia for the MAGA-era’s boldness, these scents are meant to evoke emotions. Whether those emotions are pride, irony, or bewilderment is a matter of personal opinion. The man is well aware of his followers: diehard supporters who would purchase anything bearing his name, from steaks to NFTs. Now, in an audacious move, he’s offering something completely intangible – a sensory experience that, theoretically, overcomes political divisions. After all, who wouldn’t want to scent themselves with the aroma of “victory”?

But here’s where it gets interesting: fragrances are deeply psychological. Studies have shown that scent is tied to memory and emotion. Is this Trump’s latest play to implant a visceral connection with his brand? Are we going to start associating the faint aroma of cedarwood and musk with debates, rallies, and the word “tremendous”? If nothing else, it’s audacious. But isn’t that the point?

The Jill Biden Connection

On Sunday, Donald Trump posted a lighthearted message on Truth Social, sharing a photo of him conversing amiably with First Lady Jill Biden. The accompanying caption read playfully, “A scent that even your adversaries can’t resist.

The photograph was captured during the extravagant reopening event on Saturday for the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. Trump and Jill Biden were situated next to each other, their friendly smiles offering a surprising contrast to the numerous harsh comments exchanged throughout the election campaign. Prior to this, Trump had stated that President Joe Biden was dismissed like a stray dog, following his decision to drop out of re-election contention due to criticism regarding his debate performance.

Regardless of their public disagreements, President Biden has made efforts to mend fences. Just following his election defeat, he arranged a meeting with Trump at the Oval Office that lasted close to two hours. During this encounter, First Lady Jill Biden gave Trump a handwritten letter intended for Melania Trump. Interestingly, Melania Trump was absent during this visit and did not participate in the usual post-election tea and tour as it happened in 2016 when Michelle Obama welcomed Melania in the Yellow Oval Room of the White House.

Instead of traditionally welcoming the winners following Joe Biden’s victory in 2020, the Trumps chose a different path. They didn’t invite the Bidens to the White House, nor did they participate in Biden’s inauguration, which took place amidst the aftermath of the January 6 Capitol attack and Trump’s unwarranted allegations about election fraud.

Trump added a personal flair to his post and utilized the moment to endorse his latest collection of perfumes, suggesting they would make ideal gifts this holiday season.

Trump has given them the name “Fight, Fight, Fight” as they represent victory, which is something everyone desires, according to him, in a promotional video. This scent represents power, achievement, and self-assurance for both men and women.

The name “Fight” holds deep personal meaning for Trump, as it was one of the first words he spoke after an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. Since then, this phrase has been featured on numerous Trump merchandise, including t-shirts, mugs, and collectible gold coins.
