In a significant success for Warner Bros., director Ryan Coogler’s latest horror film titled “Sinners” has outshone expectations, earning the number one spot at the weekend box office with Michael B. Jordan and Hailee Steinfeld in leading roles.
In a continuation, the version of Minecraft developed by WB surpassed $700 million in sales and is still aiming to reach an impressive milestone of $1 billion.
Sinners box office
About the projected costs for the group known as “Sinners”, there was a wide range of guesses. At one point, it dropped to about $30 million, but later estimates peaked at approximately $45 million.
Despite relying heavily on word-of-mouth promotion, fans flocked to see Sinners , resulting in an impressive opening of over $48 million domestically. Moreover, the film added an additional $15.5 million from foreign sales, bringing its current global total to a staggering $63.5 million.

A Minecraft Movie box office
Initially, I thought that the Minecraft movie would maintain its dominance at the box office for a third consecutive week. However, as the weekend unfolded, it was Minecraft and Sinners that swapped positions unexpectedly.
To begin with, it was predicted that Minecraft would earn approximately $45 million. However, over the weekend, the movie actually made $40.5 million, placing it at number two in earnings. Certainly not something to be disappointed about as Minecraft has surpassed $717 million worldwide.
The pace seems to have decreased a bit after the exceptionally successful opening weekend, which surpassed both “Barbie” and “Super Mario”. In the same period, “Super Mario” earned over $390 million domestically, while “Minecraft” garnered approximately $344 million. Notably, “Super Mario” concluded with a staggering worldwide total of over $1.36 billion ($574.9 million domestically and $785.9 million overseas).
