‘Sinners’ Scores Five Grammy Nominations, Becoming One of the Most-Nominated Films in History

Ryan Coogler’s film, Sinners, has received significant acclaim, most recently at the 68th annual Grammy Awards.

As a huge movie fan, I was thrilled to see this film make Grammy history! It racked up five nominations, which puts it right up there with the most-nominated movies ever – it’s a really big deal!

The critically and commercially successful Southern gothic drama has been celebrated for both its striking visuals and its evocative music. Composer Ludwig Göransson earned a nomination for Best Score Soundtrack for his deeply moving work, which combines elements of gospel, horror, and spirituality to powerfully underscore the film’s central ideas.

The show Sinners received three nominations for Best Song Written for Film/TV. These included “I Lied to You” (written by Göransson and Raphael Saadiq, performed by Miles Caton), “Pale, Pale Moon” (written by Göransson and Brittany Howard, performed by Jayme Lawson), and the show’s title track, “Sinners” (written by Leonard Denisenko, Rodarius “Rod Wave” Green, Travis Harrington, Tarkan Kozluklu, Kyris Mingo, and Darius Povilinus, performed by Rod Wave). These songs showcase the show’s diverse musical style, ranging from emotional ballads to powerful, cinematic themes.

The film’s soundtrack, featuring a blend of gospel, blues, and soul music, received a nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Film/TV. The album enhances the film’s atmosphere, capturing its Southern setting and artistic style through music.

The film Sinners has earned five Grammy nominations, putting it in the company of classic musical films like Purple Rain, A Star Is Born, and The Bodyguard. We’ll find out how many awards it wins at the Grammy Awards ceremony on February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
