Following a prolonged absence, there’s been a resurfacing of the enigmatic Silent Hill f. This revival is indicated by its recent rating in South Korea, suggesting that the game could be gearing up for launch. The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea granted this rating on December 12, after receiving an application on December 4.
The game titled “Silent Hill f” was first revealed during Konami’s Silent Hill Transmission event in October 2022. This upcoming game is set in 1960s Japan and is written by Ryukishi07, famous for the visual novel series Higurashi When They Cry. Since its announcement, details about the game’s progression and release schedule have been scarce.
Similarly to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, it received a rating in South Korea as well. The rating was given slightly towards the end of December and officially released on December 26th. Due to several setbacks, this action RPG has been pushed back multiple times, with its latest delay moving its anticipated launch to the first half of 2025. Currently, The Chinese Room, a studio known for their narrative-focused games, is working on developing this title.
Obtaining ratings for these games from South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee implies they’re making substantial headway in development. Although a rating doesn’t guarantee an immediate launch, it typically signals that the game is moving through the essential phases towards being ready for public consumption.
Notably, the rating for Silent Hill f stands out due to the scarcity of updates since its initial announcement. The game’s backdrop in 1960s Japan represents a shift from the typical settings in the series, which could bring a new angle to the horror genre within the franchise.
Speaking as a dedicated fan, I’m excited to share that the recent rating update for “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2” seems to be in line with the developer’s projected release schedule. In this game, I find myself immersed in the shoes of an elder vampire, navigating the intricate social web of contemporary Seattle. What makes it even more captivating is the freedom to pick from diverse vampire clans, each bringing their own set of distinct powers and storylines.
In a nutshell, the current reviews for Silent Hill f and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 in South Korea are quite positive. This could mean that both games are approaching completion, and we might be getting more definite details about their launch dates and distribution channels in the near future.
