The new trailer for Season 3 of the Apple TV+ comedy Shrinking reveals that Michael J. Fox is returning to acting. He paused his career in 2020 because of speech difficulties related to his Parkinson’s disease.
The trailer shows Michael J. Fox sitting in a doctor’s waiting room with Harrison Ford’s character, Dr. Paul Rhoades. Fox asks what brings Dr. Rhoades in for an appointment, and Ford replies, “Parkinson’s. You?” Fox jokingly says, “A haircut,” and the two men share a laugh.

Throughout the series, Ford has been living with Parkinson’s disease. Initially, he attempted to keep it private, but as time went on, he’s had to address it more openly.
In May, it was announced that Michael J. Fox will be part of the show Shrinking. This project marks another collaboration with Bill Lawrence, who created the series. Fox previously worked with Lawrence on the ABC sitcom Spin City for four seasons, leaving in 2000 because of health issues related to Parkinson’s disease. He also made a guest appearance on Lawrence’s show Scrubs.
The new trailer for Season 3 shows the show will continue to be both funny and touching, as Fox and Ford’s characters interact and deal with relatable issues.
Season 3 returns January 28, 2026.
