Introduction
As a long-time Blue Archive gamer with countless hours invested in this game, I have to say that the recent swimsuit banners for Fubuki and Kanna have left me somewhat underwhelmed. While I appreciate the effort put into creating these stunning new designs, the gameplay mechanics of these characters leave something to be desired.
After a series of repeated ads, a fresh event and two new swimsuit-themed banners for characters Fubuki and Kanna have just appeared. In this post, we’ll quickly discuss if either character is worth summoning.
Fubuki (Swimsuit) Overview
As a gamer, I’ve come to know Fubuki (Swimsuit) as a permanent 3-star Explosive Special student who excels in area-of-effect (AoE) damage dealing… but with a catch. Her EX Skill dishes out damage to enemies within its AoE, dividing the impact into three sections: the innermost zone deals the most harm, followed by the middle and outer zones with lower multipliers. This can be tricky in AoE-focused raids like Gregorius, as she may not deal enough damage to keep up with other options such as Minori. However, Fubuki does boast an Explosive Effectiveness subskill, which comes in handy when you need additional teams for any Explosive raid. As a damage dealer, I’d recommend equipping S.Fubuki with Unique Equipment 50 to maximize her destructive potential; otherwise, a 3-star rating is sufficient if you’re only concerned about the subskill.

Given that we understand the abilities S.Fubuki brings to the team, is she a good character to invest in by using the summoning feature?
In summary, SFubuki has a unique ability to bypass enemy shields, but otherwise lacks significant advantages. As a damage dealer, she technically outperforms Minori. However, her inner area of effect (AoE) only becomes effective when the enemy can be hit by it, which is often not the case. SFubuki can contribute by boosting the team’s explosive effectiveness. However, the special slot is usually occupied in most teams, making it challenging to include SFubuki over popular choices like Himari, Ako (New Year), Fuuka (New Year), and Kisaki.
Kanna (Swimsuit) Overview
Kanna (Swimsuit) is a permanent 3-star Explosive Striker student who has been utilized for defense debuffing in raids. Her EX Skill significantly decreases an enemy’s defense by approximately 47.8% for 20 seconds, which is one of the highest single target defense reductions in the game. When paired with Maki, she can reach the maximum defense debuff cap (80%), making her indispensable in Binah. She also offers an attack boost to Special students through her Sub Skill; however, this aspect isn’t significant in any of the raids she specializes in. As a debuffer, S.Kanna doesn’t require heavy investments to excel in raids. At the very least, she should have her EX Skill maximized and levels on her Basic and Enhanced Skills for survivability. This isn’t to suggest that S.Kanna doesn’t benefit from high investments; an Enhanced+ upgrade extends the defense debuff duration to approximately 23.8 seconds.

Given that we understand the benefits Kanna (Swimsuit) brings to the team, is she someone you might consider investing in? Ultimately, if she’s a character you desire for your game, then go ahead and make your decision. It’s your game, after all.
In most cases, it’s not necessary to acquire S.Kanna unless you aim to excel in Binah competitions or high DEF raids. Her team contribution isn’t particularly unique and there are free-to-play alternatives such as Akane and Maki available. However, if your goal is to rank highly in Binah, S.Kanna is a must-have character that is almost essential for reaching the top 100 (this may vary depending on the server).
