As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to announce that director Koichi Sakamoto, the man behind ‘Power Rangers’ and ‘BLACKFOX’, is back with an electrifying new action film titled ‘Shogun’s Ninja‘. If you crave intense showdowns and jaw-dropping stunts, this one’s tailor-made for you. The plot revolves around ninjas squaring off against samurai in a narrative brimming with vengeance and timeless honor.
In the 1600s, Japan is set during the Edo period, a time when Shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa held firm control. The samurai class rules, and tranquility prevails on the surface. However, beneath this calm facade, unrest is simmering. Kagaribi and Okyo, the last surviving members of the FUMA ninja clan, are merely trying to make ends meet. They take odd jobs within the town, harboring a hope of reviving their once-great clan from its ashes.
Subsequently, everything spirals out of control. The formidable YAGYU clan, akin to the Shogun’s elite samurai squad, kidnap their comrade Oran. Simultaneously, the Shogun begins to question his rule and hatches plans against the Shogunate. As a result, chaos ensues, leaving Kagaribi and Okyo caught in the crossfire, struggling to protect the Shogun from his own forces. In the midst of this turmoil, they uncover disturbing facts about the FUMA clan’s past, linking their lineage to the ongoing madness.
I’m really looking forward to seeing what Sakamoto will achieve in this project. He has an impressive resume – he began his career doing stunts for the original ‘Power Rangers’, and later moved on to directing notable works such as ‘Super Megaforce’s ‘Legendary Battle’. Additionally, he collaborated with Chihiro Yamamoto on ‘BLACKFOX: Age of the Ninja’, a live-action spin-off where she portrayed a vengeful ninja. Sakamoto is skilled at blending stylish action with compelling narratives, and it seems like ‘Shogun’s Ninja’ will take that to the next level.
This group boasts a wealth of acting talent. For instance, Himena Yamada, renowned for her role in ‘Ultraman Blazer’, collaborates with Kanon Miyahara, known from ‘Kamen Rider Gotchard’. Additionally, experienced suit actors Teruaki Ogawa and Seiji Takaiwa, who have been mastering acrobatics and martial arts in shows like ‘Kamen Rider’ and ‘Super Sentai’, are also part of the team. Together, they promise to bring the ninja-samurai battles to life with vivid intensity on screen.
Beyond the clashes, it’s essential to note that the FUMA ninjas are safeguarding their heritage, while the YAGYU samurai are relentless in their pursuit to defeat them. Add the Shogun’s treacherous scheme into the mix, and you’ve got a conflict that will ultimately shape the destiny of an empire. Be prepared – this one promises intensity and swiftness.
