Shiba Inu Sets New On-Chain Record — Should You Be Worried? 🐶💸

In a move that can only be described as “cryptocurrency, hold my leash,” Shiba Inu has just announced its latest spectacular achievement. According to the ever-reliable ears of Twitter’s @Etherscan_SHIB, the second-most-loved meme coin, with all the seriousness of a puppy chasing its tail, has seen its on-chain horde balloon like a balloon animal at a kid’s party.

On June 7, this lovable canine coin hit a jaw-dropping new high: 1,510,290 wallets. That’s right, folks—more wallets than there are people in some countries, all proudly holding their bits of digital dog treat. The tweet declared, with all the enthusiasm of a dog spotting a squirrel, that SHIB‘s growth is unstoppable. Yep, just like that last slice of pizza you swore you wouldn’t eat but totally did.

Compared to the end of May, which saw a modest 1,507,310 wallets on May 24, the latest figure suggests that SHIB has gained over 3 million new fans in just a couple of weeks. Or, more accurately, has been rapidly gobbling up wallets like a dog with a new chew toy.

Trillions of Shiba Inu Scatter Across Coinbase — Is This the End of the World? 🤑

Meanwhile, blockchain’s very own nosy neighbor, Whale Alert, has reported a frenzy of whale-sized transactions. Over the past week, three colossal whale drops of more than 2 trillion SHIB each have been sent straight to Coinbase Institutional—because who doesn’t want their dog coins to be all serious and institutional?

Just eleven hours back, a whale decided to toss a staggering 2,542,712,471,794 SHIB, worth roughly $31.6 million, into the Coinbase pit. And on June 5, another 2.86 trillion SHIB (a cool $36.6 million) was deposited like a generous puppy dropping off a gift.

Altogether, this week’s transfers total approximately 7.5 trillion Shiba Inu, or enough to fill a small lake. The wallets these huge chunks came from? Apparently, total strangers or perhaps fellow dogs acting suspiciously secretive. Rumor has it someone’s gearing up to make a big sell-off—because what’s better than a sell-off? Maybe a big, dramatic bark.

One thing’s clear: somewhere, a whale is sitting in the shadows, probably contemplating whether to dump or hold, while the rest of us are just here trying to figure out if our own dog coins will ever stop being such a rollercoaster. Either that, or someone’s finally decided to ditch their SHIB in favor of a solid mattress or a nice yacht. Who can say?
