As a dedicated follower and empathizer, I can only imagine the pain Sherri Shepherd must be going through as she prepares to say goodbye to her beloved companion, Lexi. Having had my own share of pet losses, I know too well the profound sense of grief that comes with losing a cherished family member.
On the latest update, talk show host Sherri Shepherd has shared that her cherished Cane Corso, Lexi, is critically ill and close to passing away.
In the broadcast of Sherri on November 21st, the 57-year-old host shared some distressing updates about their beloved family pet’s health condition. She mentioned that medical professionals are suggesting the family to prepare for the pet’s final moments now.
Sherri additionally shared with us how she conveyed the difficult truth about Lexi’s condition to her 19-year-old son Jeffrey, who has autism. “I recently learned that she is extremely ill, and the vet suggested we should say goodbye to Lexi this week,” she explained. “So, Jeffrey and I are dealing with it together.
Instead of expressing emotions in various manners, it’s more accurate to say that he is meticulous when it comes to how he communicates his feelings. Essentially, she suggested that he was going through a deep emotional turmoil privately.
For 12 years now, Lexi has been not just a family pet but a cherished family member. She came into our lives as Jeffrey’s five-year-old companion and has since become an integral part of us. Shepherd recently took the time to express gratitude for the affection and care Lexi received throughout her life, acknowledging the significant role she played in their lives.
She expressed, “I recognize that I provided Lexi with a wonderful life, but I am incredibly grateful for the 12 years of safety she brought into my existence. It brings me great comfort, yet I feel immense joy knowing that she perfectly embodied the idea that ‘God’ spelled backwards is ‘dog.’
The shepherd pointed out that Lexi truly personified love, explaining that spending time with her was a source of joy. In summary, he expressed, ‘Lexi, you’ve been fantastic, and we’ll surely feel your absence deeply, so thank you.’
