Valorie Curry‘s character, Firecracker, may have arrived late to the scene of the sociopathic despot ruling the Seven, but she swiftly figured out the truth behind their supposed heroics. Regrettably, Firecracker finds herself in a dire situation with no escape in sight. Given these circumstances, Curry feels that her character’s demise is unavoidable.

Valorie Curry on her character’s fate in The Boys
In the fourth season of the show, Curry’s character was introduced as a new member of The Seven, and her early experiences followed a similar pattern to Starlight’s (portrayed by Erin Moriarty) in the first season – full of aspirations to become the perfect superhero.
In the shadows of the organization, Starlight experienced its difficult side but emerged more resilient in later episodes. The audience remains curious as to how Firecracker will endure through upcoming challenges. As shared by the actress herself, her character’s demise seems inevitable.
“I expressed a strong desire to see her harmed, as she’s earned it through her actions. But I’m intrigued to find out how Firecracker reacts when she recognizes the threat from Homelander and is driven by fear,” she shared with Screen Rant.
As an obsessed fan, I can tell you that Curry described her character’s predicament as being deeply entrenched in the organization and painfully aware that escaping meant certain doom. On the other hand, Firecracker, my dear, was a wild card, her infatuation with Homelander driving her to both physical and ethical ruin. By the end of the season, she had become a pitiful and wretched soul.

Curry says her character will shift from feeling empowered to desperate
In the fourth season, Firecracker got off to an exciting start as she remained unaware of the harmful dynamics within the organization. However, once she discovered the truth, her actions will be driven by both desperation and newfound empowerment in season 5. She explained, “Although it seems like she’s more empowered, I believe there’s actually more desperation involved.”
Curry acknowledges that Firecracker’s character is hard to anticipate, remarking, “You just never know what Firecracker will do next.” Her role in the production makes her a compelling tragic figure since, unlike other characters, her unfortunate ending was a direct consequence of her own debatable actions.
As an obsessed fan, I can’t help but ponder over her reckless actions and wonder if they will ultimately prove fatal. Will she manage to cheat death and make it through this perilous final season, or will her impulsiveness prove to be her downfall? The answers lie in the upcoming episodes!
