As a dedicated fan who has followed Shawn Mendes‘ journey since his humble beginnings, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions as he unveils his new album titled “Shawn,” set to drop on October 18. The man behind hits like “Stitches” and “In My Blood” has been through an artistic hiatus, which I’ve felt every bit of, much like waiting for the next season of our favorite show.
Following a prolonged break, Shawn Mendes has officially unveiled his upcoming album, titled “Shawn,” scheduled for release on October 18th. The talented Canadian artist shared the news via an Instagram post featuring a trailer of one of his new songs, “Isn’t That Enough” (with another track, “Why Why Why,” set to follow). Interestingly, these two singles are planned for release on Mendes’ birthday, August 8th.

As a devoted admirer, in my initial Instagram share, I unveiled a teaser for my single “Isn’t That Enough.” Accompanying the video, I penned, “Indeed, music serves as a potent remedy.” I delved into the storyline behind the crafting of these “wondrously completed songs” destined for my forthcoming album.
Over the course of two years, this artist asserted that he was unaware of his own identity, feeling overwhelmed whenever he entered a recording studio to create fresh tunes. However, through the power of music, encouragement from loved ones, and friends, he managed to recover emotionally and reignite his creative flair once more.
“Life can be tough, but having a handful of reliable friends by your side to guide you makes all the difference,” he pointed out. He acknowledged those who supported him during the journey, expressing his gratitude by saying, “I appreciate you showing such deep affection toward me.” The singer behind Stitches wishes that his upcoming album will evoke feelings of comfort and closeness to nature in its listeners, just as it does for him.

Four years back, in December 2020, Mendes put out his latest studio album titled “Wonder.” The album’s launch and triumph were preceded by the “Wonder” world tour, but it had to be abruptly halted due to his struggles with mental stability.
Ever since then, he’s primarily stayed away from the spotlight, with only occasional public appearances and the occasional release of new singles. Notable examples include “When You’re Gone” from 2022 and “What the Hell Are We Dying For?” from the previous year.
Most recently he performed as a surprise guest at Ed Sheeran, Noah Kahan and Niall Horan’s concerts. He’ll be headlining two new stages including Rock in Rio on September 22 and Corona Capital in Mexico City on November 16.
Prior to officially revealing his new album, he subtly hinted at it on social media. Recently, he posted a video where he’s seen in a studio with a guitar and headphones. The caption for this post read, “Day 1 at the clubhouse. This was my first time back in the studio making an album in four years.” – Shawn Mendes.
