Sharon Horgan And Anne-Marie Duff Share Expectations For Latest Season Of Bad Sisters

As an ardent fan who has been captivated by the intricate web of secrets and sisterhood unfolding in “The Bad Sisters,” I eagerly anticipated the premiere of season 2, which finally graced our screens on November 13. The anticipation was palpable, and I couldn’t help but wonder if Sharon Hogan, the show’s creator and star, managed to maintain that exhilarating balance of suspense, emotion, and entertainment in this new season.

Many viewers enjoyed the first season of “The Bad Sister” series, so it’s understandable that they anticipate the same thrills and enjoyment from season 2, which debuted on November 13. The show’s creator, Sharon Hogan, who is also a cast member alongside Anne-Marie Duff, discussed the new season.

Horgan aimed to create a similar atmosphere and draw the audience into the emotional journey of the sisters during season 2. For those unfamiliar with the first season, four out of five Garvey sisters conspire to eliminate Grace’s (played by Duff) abusive husband, John Paul (depicted by Claes Bang). However, it is Grace who ultimately takes his life.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Horgan pondered over ways to deliver the same quality of storytelling, entertainment, and emotional depth, while also making it distinctly unique from the first season.

She aimed to preserve the essence or core concept of the series, yet introduce an element of surprise. Executive producer and director Dearbhla Walsh further questioned, “How might we elevate it even more?

Additionally, Horgan explained to the media that the primary focus was helping the characters cope emotionally with the aftermath of the events that affected the sisters in the initial season, and how they managed to move on and escape the consequences—”up until now.

In the second season, the storyline unfolds in Dublin, two years following the events of the first season. Grace has experienced some joyful instances, such as her bachelorette party and wedding to Ian Reilly (portrayed by Owen McDonnell), as well as spending time at the racetrack with her sisters. Filming these scenes provided a pleasant respite for Duff personally.

The actress shared with the media that she particularly relished the race day when they placed their wagers on the victorious steed, causing quite a stir. She was delighted to depict an alternate aspect of Grace’s character.

Additionally, Duff commented, “The wedding was truly magnificent for two days straight. It was filled with everything – from clear skies to even a touch of a hurricane, making it nothing short of classic.
