I’m so excited for Shang-Chi to appear in Avengers: Doomsday! Simu Liu has said that my favorite hero will have a noticeably different look this time, which is really interesting. I can’t wait to see what they’ve done with the character’s design!
Simu Liu recently shared that Shang-Chi will have a new costume in the next Avengers movie, confirming the suit’s redesign.
“It’s a completely different suit that fit on me very differently,” Liu said, via X.

A New Direction For Shang-Chi
Liu hasn’t shared specifics about the new suit’s appearance, or how it compares to the one from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but his comments hint at a major change in design.
I loved how the first Shang-Chi movie really nailed his costume – it felt both classic and connected to his family history. Now that he’s had time to grow as a hero, I’m hoping a new suit will show how much he’s changed and what he’s become.
Since Avengers: Doomsday is predicted to unite many different parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Shang-Chi’s new suit could indicate he’ll have a bigger part to play in the overall story.

What It Could Mean For Avengers: Doomsday
Marvel is being secretive about the story of Avengers: Doomsday, but speculation indicates the movie might significantly change the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
When a character changes significantly – whether they’re becoming more powerful, facing bigger challenges, or going through a key moment – they often get a new suit. Marvel Studios frequently uses this technique with heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, and Spider-Man to visually show their development.
Shang-Chi’s new suit might suggest he’s taking on greater challenges, developing new abilities, or facing a more difficult path as the Marvel Cinematic Universe builds toward its next big team-up event.
