Adam Demos and Sarah Shahi‘s intense connection on the Netflix show Sex/Life was more than just acting; they started dating during filming. After five years together, it appears that they have ended their relationship, as reported by Page Six. This potential breakup comes two months after Shahi made a rare public comment about their relationship.
Back in February, she shared with The Hollywood Reporter her desire to work together professionally with Demos once more, following their project “Sex/Life”. She stated, “We’re open to the possibility. We’ve certainly explored other projects, but nothing has seemed quite right yet.
Shahi openly acknowledged that interacting with Demos on set contributed significantly to creating an authentic connection between them. “Since we are romantically involved,” she explained, “it’s simply not feasible for us to deceive one another. I can’t feign a line when looking at him, and he can’t do the same.
Apart from their acting roles, the actress additionally disclosed that their strict no-nonsense approach fostered an exceptional professional bond. In the year 2020, the duo crossed paths on the set of Sex/Life, just as Sarah Drew was parting ways with her former spouse, Steve Howey.
11 years ago, Howey and Shahi tied the knot and are parents to three children together. During a 2023 interview on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, the actress disclosed that their marriage began to deteriorate shortly after the birth of their first child.
For 18 years, the pair pursued a romantic relationship, which is not considered a failure given its length, but the final ten years were challenging for them. Speaking about her marriage, Shahi noted, “Those weren’t easy times. We truly wrestled during those years.” She reminisced that their relationship underwent a significant transformation upon becoming parents.
Regarding her romantic journey with Demos, she reminisced that it didn’t spark immediately. Instead, they gradually grew familiar with each other, discovering shared values along the way. In due time, Demos emerged as the man she had long yearned for, marking the commencement of their relationship.
Their rumored split has yet to be confirmed by the couple.
