SEVERANCE Scores Season 3 Renewal at Apple TV+

The show “Severance” holds the record as the most-watched series on Apple TV+, surpassing the previous top-streamed title, “Ted Lasso.” When a company possesses such a successful show, it’s not rocket science to know what they do next – they renew it for another season. And that’s exactly what Apple has done after the gripping finale of season two. The good news is, “Severance” will be back for season three, and this renewal announcement has been a delight for fans eagerly awaiting more of the series.

As a devoted fan, I couldn’t help but rejoice the following morning after watching “Cold Harbor,” the finale of our beloved show’s second season. Both Ben Stiller and Apple CEO Tim Cook graced our social media feeds with an announcement that had everyone who had just finished the episode buzzing – “Severance” is coming back for another round! The anticipation for what lies ahead in season three is already building, as we eagerly wait to unravel more of the show’s captivating mysteries and revelations.

Given the manner in which “Cold Harbor” concluded, it’s relieving to know they took this clear action, or else fans from both sides might have started protesting at Apple headquarters for explanations. If the series continues to release episodes every three years as it did between seasons one and two, fans might still revolt. However, rest assured that it’s not in the plans according to Stiller. He mentioned on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce that this extended wait is “definitely not” the strategy. Instead, he hinted that they will be announcing their new plan very soon.

Now that the third season has been officially confirmed, we’ll likely learn more about their plans in no time. However, don’t expect the show to air anytime soon. It took them around half a year just to film Adam Scott’s opening run for the first season. Given such a challenging shooting schedule, it’s safe to say that the earliest we might see season three is towards the end of 2026 at best.

This could be rephrased as: It’s possible, given the unknown factors surrounding both Lumon and Apple, that they might have a large number of employees on standby who could quickly help improve their situations.
